Student Access to WebCT at Benedictine Winter/Spring 2003

Benedictine University has adopted WebCT as its online course management system. In Fall 2002 the University established a new procedure for WebCT access for students.

To prepare for Winter/Spring 2003 most fall enrollments were deleted, but student records were not changed. Therefore, students who used WebCT in Fall 2002 should use the same WebCT ID and Password they were using at the end of that term.

To access WebCT courses

1. Direct your browser* to http://owl.ben.edu:9000
   
   
2. Click on the Log On link.
   
   
3. Enter your WebCT ID. WebCT ID’s are generally of the form FirstName_LastName, as in Jane_Adams, LeVar_Davis, or Jean_McGee, for example. (Note the capital letters. WebCT ID’s are case sensitive.) Modifications in the format occur in the case of duplicate names. Check with your instructor to confirm your WebCT ID.
   
   
4. Enter your WebCT Password. Your initial WebCT password is your 7-digit Student ID Number. The first time you log on to WebCT you will be prompted to change this password. You will also be prompted to establish a Logon Hint. Establishing a Login Hint is optional. Check with Ben Central if you are unsure of your Student ID Number.
(As mentioned above, students who used WebCT last semester should continue to use the password they established when they first logged on. Passwords were NOT reset.)

Once you have logged on, your personal myWebCT page will load. A list of links to all your WebCT courses will appear near the upper left of that page. To enter a course, follow the corresponding link. A link back to your myWebCT page appears at the top of each course page.
