Duties:
Primary responsibilities include supervision of subordinate officers, security guards and student employees, utilizing currently accepted progressive management philosophies. Protect students, faculty, staff, campus visitors, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, hazards, fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry, by enforcing University rules and regulations, enforcing of State statutes, to include traffic and parking regulations and apprehending violators. Provide general information and assistance to the public, conduct criminal investigations and participate in community oriented policing efforts. Must embrace quality customer service philosophy, as subscribed in the department’s Mission and Value Statement.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s Degree in law enforcement or related field. Experience: Prior law enforcement experience in a college university setting. Specific Skills: Extensive law enforcement experience, to include, conducting criminal investigations, positive proactive interaction with the public and the ability effectively communicate in written and verbal manner. Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Current certification as a peace officer by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, or successful Waiver of Minimum Straining Standards. Current Illinois drivers License and be free of any felony convictions and certain misdemeanor convictions. MUST HAVE PERMANENT LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE U.S.A.
