Benedictine University and Springfield College in Illinois announced a partnership in January 2003 to bring Benedictine University programs and services to the Springfield area. This partnership is expected to move the two institutions toward a merger, following Illinois Board of Higher Education guidelines and those of the U.S. Department of Education.
