Well-balanced study of the arts, humanities, and social sciences combined with a practical, yet innovative way of looking at the world—that is what we promise
The well-prepared student is wise to acquire an internship to explore their career options and gain real-world experience while they are still in school. The Department of Communication Arts offers internship opportunities with a number of media organizations in the Chicago area, including television stations, radio stations, and newspapers, as well as with companies and groups that can provide valuable web design and print layout experience. A student is responsible for obtaining an internship, but in the past our students have interned at CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, and PBS affiliates. Our students have also had internships with local area businesses such as the Bulls-Sox Academy, 95.9 FM The River, ESPN AM 1000, and Comcast television. Benedictine also has a variety of opportunities that allows students to gain professional experience within the Department of Communication Arts and in the Athletic Department.
Students interested in acquiring an internship should begin the process while in their junior or senior year. Internships will run during the semester in which the student is enrolled. Contact the Internship Coordinator, Professor Peter Seely, for more information.
