Professional Background:
Tom Gray's expertise is performance assessment and improvement for businesses
of all sizes. Whether the task is called due diligence, operations review,
business planning or performance improvement, Tom applies a logical methodology
to assess the business as it is and then identifies its potential and key
projects to bridge that gap. He is also an experienced advisor to owners and
managers as they work those projects to implement the plan.
In 2000, Tom founded Telecom Expert Group to
assess and improve the business prospects of telecom companies. Since then has
branched out to provide the same type of analysis and advice to small firms in
manufacturing and various service industries.
Mr. Gray counsels startups through SCORE, and
is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, where he was named a
Certified Turnaround Professional in 2008 and co-chairs the Pro Bono committee.
He was recently a Director of Warwick Valley
Telephone Company (NASDAQ: WWVY) in New York, where he was previously Interim CEO.He was also Interim CEO for Mooney Airplane Company of
Kerrville, Texas.
Tom's 30 year career as an Ameritech manager
provided solid experience in Operations, Strategy, Marketing, Customer Service,
and General Management.He was a Vice President in
Ameritech International, responsible for acquiring stakes in foreign telephone
companies and improving their performance. In this position,
he led operational due diligence teams, developed turnaround business plans,
negotiated deals, recruited managers, and led divisions in foreign companies.
He teaches in the MBA programs of Benedictine
University and Concordia University, where he is also a member of the Advisory
Board for the School of Business.
