Professional Background:
Dr. Paul Loth has over five years of experience writing, facilitating, and
presenting in corporate training and has taught adult accelerated courses for
ten years at three schools. Paul was destined to spend his life in education.
Both his parents earned graduate degrees in education and devoted their lives
to teaching. Even Paul's sister and brother-in-law were teachers. Family dinner
conversations typically revolved around teaching and education. So Paul's
future career was determined long ago. As a high school student, he wrote for
local newspapers and also taught classes at his church. After earning an
undergraduate degree at Bethel College (MN) in Speech Communications, Paul
earned the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree at Denver Seminary and went on to
earn the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Adult
Continuing Education at Northern Illinois University. It was then that he fell
in love with teaching adults. Paul served for ten years as Director of
Educational Programs for Evangelical Training Association, developing and
editing adult educational resources and speaking at educational ministry
conferences and schools around North America. He then developed and wrote
technical training curriculum and facilitated corporate training at both the
American Dental Association and at United Airlines. After teaching Religion,
Philosophy, and Ethics to college-age students at the College of DuPage for several years, Paul was asked to teach in the
Adult Accelerated Degree Program. It was a perfect match! Since then, he not
only taught and developed curriculum for Adult Accelerated courses at COD, but
at Trinity International University, as well. He is thrilled to be part of the
Benedictine family now, too.
