QWhen is the application deadline?
ABenedictine University has a rolling admission. You can apply at any time.
QWhat is the minimum cumulative grade point average for admission?
AThe minimum is a 2.0/4.0 (without previous probation or dismissal) for
automatic admission.
QHow many hours do I need to transfer to Benedictine?
AYou need an equivalent of 20 transferrable semester hours from an accredited
college or university. If you have less than 20 transferrable semester hours,
we will need to review your high school transcripts/GED.
QWhat if I have never attended a college or university?
AWe will need to see official high school transcripts/ACT scores.
QHow many of my hours will transfer to Benedictine?
AWe are IAI compliant, therefore any IAI course will transfer to Benedictine.
There is no maximum and credits will be examined on a course by course basis.
QHow many hours must I take at Benedictine if I transfer into the
adult accelerated program?
AYou need 120 hours to earn a bachelors degree; 55 of those hours
need to be completed at a four year college or university. Other graduation
requirements will be determined on an individual basis.
QCan I have an unofficial evaluation done of my previous credits?
AYes. Just schedule an appointment with one of our University representatives.
QIs there an age requirement for the adult accelerated program?
AThe adult accelerated program is designed for the adult learner, therefore
we look for students to be a minimum of 22 years old and have two years work
experience. If you dont meet these requirements please speak with a University
representative who will be able to provide you with more detailed information
about how to proceed.
QDoes Benedictine offer any help for students who require academic
assistance outside of the classroom?
AYes. The Academic Resource Center, located in Kindlon Hall, offers programs
and services in mathematics, writing, college reading, study skills and time
management, among others.
QWhat is considered full time and part time?
A12-to-18 hours per semester is considered full time, anything less than
11 semester hours is considered part time.
QIs the adult accelerated program on semesters or quarters?
AThe program is set on semesters with multiple modules (known as MODs)
beginning and ending in each semester. The MODs split the semester, with several
MODs per semester. For instance, fall semester has three different modules.
You can sign up for one, two or all three depending on your academic needs.
MODs are five weeks in length and classes are five, 10 or 15 weeks in length
depending on the course. There are a total of nine MODS per year.
QHow long will this program take me?
AThe length of the program depends on the amount of your transferable
credit and on the number of classes you want to take per semester/module.
QWhen can I start classes?
AAn adult accelerated student can start at the beginning of any of the
nine modules which occur year round. Contact a University representative for
further information.
QHow can I balance my life with school, work and personal demands?
AWeve designed our program to be very flexible. Students are able
to choose how many classes they would like to take in a given module and when
(evenings or weekends or both). The program allows for stop outs if personal
or professional time will be especially busy.
