Now that you have committed to Benedictine University and are registered for the upcoming fall semester, please take some time this summer to check out our information sessions and additional resources that will help you prepare for your first semester at Benedictine. We look forward to having you on campus this fall when classes begin on Monday, August 31.
Our Eagle Engagement on the Fly sessions will be taking place virtually throughout the summer. These online sessions will allow you to interact with our current students, staff and faculty during live WebEx events. Check out the topics below to find sessions that speak to your specific interests, campus resources and support that will help make your Benedictine experience the best it can be. In addition, you’ll find some FAQs and other helpful resources to make your transition to college life a smooth one. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon!
University Housing & Residence Life
This session covers topics such as the University Housing application process, meal plan options for the upcoming academic year and the types of programming and activities you can expect to see from our Residence Life staff. You’ll also learn more about the size of your dorm room, what you should bring to campus and details about what to expect on Move-In Day. Please RSVP for a date to hear from our University Housing and Res Life staff as well as some of our current residential students!
This session will help our non-resident students learn more about the activities and programs that are available to them through our Commuter Services area. You’ll get more information about where to park on campus, the food options available to you, where you can study and hang out in between classes as well as the different commuter student organizations we offer. Please join us on one of the following dates to hear from our staff and current commuter students!
Student Activities & Leadership Opportunities
Looking to get involved when you get on campus this fall? During this session, you'll hear from our current students about all the different opportunities there are to be an active member of our Benedictine community. You’ll learn about how to join a student club or organization as well as the support our Student Senate and Programming Board provide our student body. They will also share more about events that are hosted both on and off campus for our students.
This session, hosted by our director of athletics and assistant director of sports medicine, will give student-athletes and their families more information about how to prepare for their upcoming seasons. You’ll learn more about the appropriate paperwork that must be completed by the start of the fall semester as well as the type of insurance needed for participation, how to complete your concussion test and any other necessary steps. This session will also cover eligibility requirements.
Financial Aid Next Steps
Now that you’ve committed to Benedictine, hear from our assistant director of financial aid and our student accounts office about next steps in regards to your financial aid. Topics include how to accept or decline your student loan offers, how to apply any outside scholarships you may have received to your financial aid and how to set up a payment plan.
Becoming an Eagle Parent
Please join our director of parent and family engagement to learn more about how to support your student in their transition to life at Benedictine as well as all the opportunities for you to be involved throughout the academic year. You will also hear from other key individuals from around campus including our provost, chief engagement officer and chief enrollment and retention officer.
