Benedictine University offers several automatic scholarships for students who meet the criteria. Our unlimited merit based scholarships for full time students are based on a cumulative GPA and are as follows: Please take note that we are no longer offering part-time scholarships.

ST. BENEDICT AWARD Renewable every year if a 3.0 cumulative GPA is maintained and full-time status
3.75 - 4.00 $10,000
3.51 - 3.74 $8,500
3.26 - 3.50 $7,000
3.00- 3.25 $6,500

PHI THETA KAPPA AWARD Renewable every year if a 3.25 cumulative GPA is maintained and full-time status
3.75 - 4.00 $11,000
3.51 - 3.74 $9,500
3.26 - 3.50 $8,000
3.00- 3.25 $6,500

We also recognize Underrepresented minorities, children of alumni and graduation from a Catholic High School.

Benedictine Incentive Award
Amount: up to $3,000 per year
Eligibility: Targeted to underrepresented minority students designated by the University
Renewability: Cumulative GPA 2.5/4.0; Full time enrollment

Catholic High School Recognition Award
Amount: $2,000 per year
Eligibility: Graduate of a Catholic High School
Renewability: Cumulative GPA 2.5/4.0; Full time enrollment

Alumni Recognition Award
Amount: $1,000 per year
Eligibility: Son or daughter of a Benedictine University alumnus
Renewability: Cumulative GPA 2.5/4.0; Full time enrollment

Music Scholarship
Amount: up to $4,000
Eligibility: Successful completion of a music audition with the music department; declared major or minor in music; full time status in undergraduate program.
Renewability: Maintain a 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA; enroll in at least one music course per semester with music department advisor approval

Out-of-State Award
Amount: $3,000 per year
Eligibility: Given to a student who is residents of a state other than Illinois.
Renewability: Cumulative GPA 2.5/4.0; Full time enrollment

Sibling Recognition Award
Amount: $1,500
Eligibility: Given to incoming students ONLY with currently enrolled or alumni sibling
Renewability: Cumulative G.P.A. 2.5/4.0; full-time enrollment

Scholars Program Award
Amount: $12,000 per year
Eligibility: 3.2/4.0 Cumulative GPA, must have less than 60 transferable credit hours. Two years of foreign language at the college level is preferred.
Renewability: Maintain 3.2/4.0 Cumulative GPA; Full time enrollment in the Scholars Program.
