Sowing the Seeds of Future Growth

A Benedictine University education is not rigid. Its most important characteristic
is that it is flexible in such a way as to meet current social needs. It is
crucial that the Benedictine graduate will be able to adapt as they enter the
working world where they will need to deal with change and difficulties in a
confident and positive manner.
Benedictine prepares students for the professional world through internships
available through academic departments, faculty referrals and the Career Development
Office. The Career Development Office assists individuals to develop, evaluate,
initiate and implement career and life plans.
Students can also take advantage of career and job search counseling, job
postings, resume referrals, job fairs, on-campus recruiting and networking with
Benedictine alumni through AlumNet, a service of the Alumni Relations Office
which connects students with alumni volunteers willing to share their time and
expertise.
However, the University endeavors not only to prepare students for their professional
careers, it seeks to inspire them to recognize their responsibilities as members
of the community. Benedictine graduates see themselves not merely as residents,
but as citizens of an increasingly global community.
The Benedictine tradition embraces quality education, spiritual awareness
and community participation. Our students and faculty enthusiastically integrate
these elements into their lives, underscoring their commitment to addressing
the needs of tomorrow.
