Setzen Memorial Endowed Scholarship
November Featured Scholarship: This scholarship is in current need of more funding in order to reach the minimum endowment amount to award to a student. The Setzen Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established to award students who have a financial need for tuition assistance and are majoring in the political science and/or pre-law programs.

The Celebrating Success Scholarship Award
The primary purpose of the Celebrating Success Scholarship Award is to financially assist and recognize current freshman, sophomores and junior African American students at Benedictine University. The students who receive this award have demonstrated a financial need, are active in extracurricular activities or within the community, and show academic success or improvement
Allain Chemistry Scholarship
Dr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Allain formed this endowment in order to provide a scholarship to a student in chemistry/biochemistry as they are entering their junior year. The recipient of this scholarship demonstrates an interest in a research career, plans to pursue a graduate degree, and demonstrates excellent laboratory technique.
Anthony L. LaScala Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to award a student who is seeking a teacher's certification with preference to those planning to coach a sport. Recipients of this scholarship are seniors who demonstrate leadership qualities both in and out of the classroom, and participate in at least one Benedictine University extra-curricular activity for a minimum of two years.
Arthur J. Schmitt Future Leaders Scholarship Award
This scholarship was established to financially assist and recognize student(s) with known leadership accomplishments, and involvement in leadership activities or programs at Benedictine University. The recipient(s) also anticipate serving as a leader in the future.
Aspire Award
The Aspire Award financially assists full-time students who are full time undergraduates and have an immediate family member (mother, father, or spouse) that has passed away, became unexpectedly critically ill, or encounters and debilitating unforeseen circumstances.
Bernardine M. Lanser Memorial Scholarship for Teachers
This scholarship was established for a student who is seeking teacher certification and currently enrolled in his/her senior year at Benedictine. The recipient of this scholarship demonstrates financial need, academic honors or recognition, participates in on-campus and off-campus activities, and/or extracurricular activities of community service and leadership in the field of education.
Bernice P. and Paul W. Brandel Scholarship Fund
The student recipient for this scholarship must demonstrate academic achievement, outstanding character and leadership ability. Financial need may be considered.
Carroll Family Scholarship
The primary purpose of this scholarship fund is to financially assist and recognize full-time undergraduate students that meet the minimum 2.0 GPA.
Dr. Al J. Havlik Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a senior student who intends to enter the medical profession. Financial need will be considered.
Dr. Ernest J. Gentchos, M.D., and Friend of Benedictine University, Endowed Scholarship in the Natural Sciences
This scholarship financially assists and recognizes a qualified undergraduate student of demonstrated financial need who is enrolled in a full-time academic degree program, and who has declared a major within the College of Science. Student must be a junior or senior when the scholarship will be received.
Dr. Margarete Roth Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund was established to assist students who show academic excellence, a financial need, and have made it a priority to study overseas while learning a foreign language.
Dr. Richard C. Becker Leadership in Science Scholarship Award
This award was established to support a junior or senior who demonstrates exceptional leadership in the area of science research.
Dr. Rose Carney Scholarship
This scholarship will support a student majoring in mathematics who has exhibited an interest and ability to pursue a career as a teacher of mathematics. 
Dr. Scholl Scholars Program
This scholarship was established for outstanding students who are pursuing a science degree, including nutrition majors.
Dr. William Polk Jesse Scholarship
This scholarship provides funds to a student at the sophomore level or higher majoring in engineering or mathematics. The student must possess excellence of character and a disposition to serve others, while needing financial aid themselves.
Edward Jochim Leadership Scholarship
Awarded to a senior based upon demonstration of exceptional leadership abilities.
Evelyn R. Simmers Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship was founded for students studying toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing and who have a GPA 3.2 and 3.5 respectively.
Fine Arts Award
This award was established to recognize and appreciate the time, talent and dedication of the young artists at Benedictine University who have declared a major in fine arts.
Fogarty Family Scholarship, In Honor of Ralph, Jim, Pat and Lucille
This scholarship is for any student who attends Benedictine University full-time.
Fr. David Turner, O.S.B. Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship awards one student per academic year who has shown involvement in community service and/or volunteerism. The recipient demonstrates a financial need and maintains a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Fr. Michael Komechak, O.S.B. Endowed Scholarship for Young Artists
This scholarship was established with the primary purpose to financially assist and recognize students who are enrolled full-time at Benedictine University and who have declared fine arts as a major or as a minor.
Frank and Mary Frances Flick Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is studying for ministry and will be a senior when the scholarship is received.
Raymond J. "Doc" Fanning Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in current need of more funding in order to reach the minimum endowment amount to award to a student. This scholarship was established to award a deserving Benedictine University student in financial need.
Jeffrey A. Kulhanek Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Jeffrey A. Kulhanek Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established by alumnus Melvin J. Kulhanek,C56, and his wife Patricia to honor the memory of their late son Jeffrey. The scholarship is available to a freshman student in financial need, and is renewable to the student each year as long as criteria has been met.

Frank and Sylvia Bicek Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established with the primary purpose to financially assist and recognize students who are enrolled full-time at Benedictine University and who have declared political science as a major.
George Hajek Memorial Scholarship in Education
This scholarship was established for first and/or second-year graduate students enrolled in the Master of Education Program (with emphasis on collaborative teaching) or the Master of Arts in Education Program.
Gregory S. & Alice V. Kobus Scholarship
This scholarship is for a promising student attending Benedictine University full-time, and who is majoring in mathematics with a 3.0 GPA.
Hope Award
The primary purpose of this award fund is to financially assist and recognize a student who is a cancer survivor, or the child of someone who has been affected by cancer.
Jack Miles Memorial Scholarship in Engineering
This scholarship was established to assist a full-time student majoring in engineering.
James and Katherine Melsa Endowment
This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student in a financial need.
John N. and Dorothy C. Erlenborn Scholarship
This scholarship is established for the purpose of helping a student who intends on pursuing a career in public service. The recipients are sophomore or junior students returning to Benedictine University with cumulative GPA 3.2/4.0; and are enrolled in an academic program which serves as preparation for a Master’s in Public Administration or other graduate program leading to a career in public service. 
John Ostrowski Leadership Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established for a male student with demonstrated leadership qualities both in and out of the classroom, and who has participated in at least one Benedictine sponsored extracurricular activity for at least two years.
Kapellas Entrepreneurial Scholarship in International Business and Economics
This scholarship is for students with a major in international business and economics. Applicant must demonstrate an interest and ability in one day establishing his/her own business venture.
Louis R. Chase Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established to financially assist a student majoring in computer science. Applicants should be involved in outside activities including service to the University and involvement with professional and service organizations.
Molex Endowed Scholarship for International Business
This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in international business and economics. Applicants must demonstrate high academic achievement and a need for financial assistance.
PNC Bank Endowed Scholarship for Business Majors
This is a scholarship program created to assist and recognize students in financial need and majoring in one of the courses of study in the College of Business. Students are either a junior or senior when the scholarship is received.
Ralph & Margaret Thompson Scholarship
This scholarship was established with the intent of assisting students who are in financial need and majoring in chemistry. Consideration will be given to students demonstrating character and leadership qualities.
Rev. Alban Hrebic, O.S.B. Scholarship
The student recipient of this scholarship must major in music. Financial need of the applicant will be considered.
Rev. Clement & Adolph Hrdlicka Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is to encourage students to perfect their abilities to communicate in proper written and spoken English.
Rev. Richard Shonka O.S.B. Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established for a sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in computer science or mathematics. The student must have the promise of a successful career in their chosen field, have an excellence in character, a disposition to serve others and have some need of financial assistance.
Rev. William J. Shonka O.S.B. Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a physics, mathematics, or engineering major with a minimum of 30 hours completed at Benedictine by the award date. Candidates for this award must also possess an appreciation of a college education and the educational resources at Benedictine, an inclination to serve others, and show trustworthiness and sincerity.
Rev's. Edmund and Hilary Jurica O.S.B. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who has stated intention of attending medical, dental, podiatry, veterinarian, or optometry school following graduation.
Rose Becker Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who have shown academic achievement and financial need.
Sodexo International Corporation Scholarship
This scholarship was established to recognize Sodexo's commitment to education and nutrition. The recipient must be a full-time junior or senior with preference given to a student pursuing a degree in nutrition or a related science.
The Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund - Sch-1 - Science
This scholarship was established to award science students, with a priority for students studying physical science or math.
The Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund - Humanities

The Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation pledges to support students who show great promise for developing personal leadership and achievement. The student's selected for this scholarship must also be involved with the humanities program at Benedictine University.

The Bernard J. Kurtin Scholarship
This scholarship was established for a student studying mathematics or physics.
The Charles McNamara/Victor Dana Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to students who have shown outstanding performance at the University with respect to academic achievement, qualities of participation, leadership and character. The student must be full-time, degree-seeking student who has declared a major in Chemistry, Computer Science or Environmental Science. Student must be a junior or senior when the award is applied.
The Christine Francis Rocco Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to assist deserving females of Italian-American decent beginning or returning to college. The applicant should demonstrate intention to study or major in Business, English, or Education.
The Cindy Cebrzynski Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to financially assist and recognize an accomplished undergraduate student(s) majoring in either health science or biology. The student/s selected must maintain at least a GPA of 3.2 and be involved in a minimum of one Benedictine University sponsored club, organization and/or program above and beyond classroom requirements and have financial need.
The Dr. Bernard Toussaint Endowed Benedictine Scholarship
This scholarship is available for students who are pursuing a major or minor in philosophy. Student must be a junior or senior when receiving the scholarships.
The Dr. Jon Colby Swanson Endowed MPH Scholarship
This scholarship was established for students enrolled in the Master of Public Health program that have six credit hours already completed, and a potential for leadership in public health.
The Dr. Richard J. Remijas Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Biology Majors
This scholarship was established for a full-time student who has financial need and has a declared major in biology. Student must be a junior or senior in the year the award is used.
The Edward Hospital Medical Staff Pre-med Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to financially assist and recognize deserving pre-med students. The recipient be a senior at the time the award will be applied.
The Father Cyprian Tomecko Memorial Scholarship in the Natural Sciences
The primary purpose of this scholarship was to establish a fund to financially assist and recognize a qualified full-time junior or senior with financial need, who has declared a major within the natural sciences; with a preference, but not a requirement, for a major in biology or chemistry.
The Fr. Dismas Award in Economics
This award was established to financially assist junior or senior status students majoring in economics at Benedictine University.
The Fr. John M. Palmer, C.S.V., Endowed Scholarship for Expenses in Applied Music
This scholarship was established to financially assist toward the music study lab fees of a student who is enrolled full-time to study music.
The Frank and Annabelle M. Valach Chemistry Scholarship
This scholarship was established to help junior and senior students who have declared a major within the natural science with a preference, but not a requirement, for a student majoring in biology or chemistry.
The Geri Curley Endowed Scholarship for Nursing
This scholarship was established to assist junior or senior students in the nursing program who have demonstrated a financial need.
The Ginevra and Anthony Abbatiello Memorial Scholarship and Endowment
This scholarship program was established for undergraduate and graduate students who specifically have declared majors in music and are in need of financial aid. Recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled in a full-time academic degree program and have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The recipient should perform by voice or instrument, or be engaged in composing music. Preference is given to students who perform music of Italian origin, written prior to 1930; however this is not a requirement.
The Greogry A. Snoke Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established to award a full-time student majoring in chemistry.
The Harold and Louise Kittel Memorial Scholarship
This primary purpose of this endowment is to establish, and maintain in perpetuity, an undergraduate scholarship to financially assist and recognize a qualified student, of demonstrated financial need, who is enrolled in a full-time academic program and who has declared a major in mathematics. Student must be a junior or senior when the receiving the scholarship.
The John L. and Helen Kellogg Scholarship
This is a general scholarship that was established to award students on a merit basis to those who combine outstanding academic achievement and service to community.
The Joseph and Ann Padera and Joseph Padera, Jr. Scholarship for Religious Study
The primary purpose of this scholarship is to financially assist and recognize a qualified student who is enrolled in a full-time academic degree program and has firmly demonstrated the desire to eventually become a Catholic priest. Student must be a junior or senior when the scholarship will be received and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
The Lincoln Humanities Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established to provide scholarship assistance and encourage students to major in Humanities at Benedictine University.
The Luz and Malcolm Berd Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established for students who are studying to become teachers with emphasis on Spanish and their Catholic faith.
The Margaret M. Gillett Memorial Scholarship in Education
This scholarship was established to award a full-time student who is seeking a teaching certificate.
The Margaret Mary Sullivan Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established to award junior or senior male students who have declared a major in a business discipline, and are involved in at least one extracurricular activity (religious, civic, or school club or organization).
The Martin J. Henehan Memorial Scholarship Award
This scholarship was established to award full time students who have demonstrated a financial need and are involved in the community or Benedictine extracurriculars.
The Mtanis and Ajia Haddad Memorial Scholarship in the Natural Sciences
This scholarship was established to financially assist and recognize a qualified student who has declared a major within the College of Science, specifically in the discipline of biology or chemistry.
The Muslim Alumni Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to award full-time Muslim students at Benedictine University, who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, financial need, and leadership or service in the Muslim community. This scholarship is also intended to encourage desirable Muslim students to enroll at this university
The Norman A. Frigerio Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established for freshmen (will be sophomores when the award is applied) who have declared a chemistry/biochemistry major and who demonstrates the ability to achieve success as a creative scientist.
The Paul & Ann Skvarla, and Fr. Norbert Skvarla Memorial
This scholarship was established for junior or senior students with financial need, who have declared a major in the discipline of the natural sciences with a preference to biology, molecular biology, chemistry or biochemistry. The student must have the intention to continue his/her education to become a licensed Doctor of Dentistry.
The Power N U 2 International: Etta Lee Memorial Award
The primary purpose of this award fund is to financially assist and recognize African-American students. Eligibility requirements were established solely with the intention of providing financial assistance to an African-American male and/or female student.
The PPG Industries Foundation/J. Earl Burrell Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established to award students majoring in the sciences of biology or chemistry.
The Raize Software Endowed Scholarship in Computer Science
This scholarship was established to award an incoming senior enrolled in a full-time academic degree program with a declared major in computer science.

This scholarship was established to provide several promising students majoring in mathematics with scholarship awards.

The primary purpose of this scholarship award fund is to financially assist and recognize a young artist, who is enrolled full-time at Benedictine University and who has declared fine arts as his or her major.
Jim Durham Memorial Scholarship Award
The recipient(s) of this award are selected by a Benedictine University advisor or professor. The recipient(s) are rising juniors or seniors majoring in the area of communications, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 throughout their college career. The recipient(s) demonstrate a passion for excellence, the desire to communicate what makes a difference for good in the world, great personal integrity and a commitment to the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics (www.spj.org).
Thomas J. Quinn Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established to award students who show outstanding performance in school, with special consideration given to academic achievement, character, qualities, leadership, and financial need.
UST Scholarship For Minority Science Students
This scholarship is to be awarded to sophomore, junior, or senior minority students majoring in the sciences or engineering. Academic honors, award recognition and on/off campus involvement and activities will be considered.
William A. Raveret Chemistry Scholarship
This scholarship was established to help a student majoring in chemistry.
William Randolph Hearst Endowed Minority Science Scholarship
This scholarship was established to be awarded to a minority student majoring in the sciences, who is interested in the research field or medical school. The recipients of this scholarship must be in the pre-med program of study.
Anthony P. Castino Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established to financially assist a high-achieving student throughout their entire four-year term with Benedictine University.
RJN Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established to financially assist and recognize a qualified student of demonstrated financial need, who is enrolled in Benedictine University's joint engineering program with Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).
