Head Coach
(630) 829-6140
fjanczak@ben.edu

Frank Janczak began heading up the Benedictine men's golf program in 2006 and has been a staff member since 2002. He also serves as the head coach of the newly formed women's golf team and as an assistant coach with Benedictine's highly-successful men's basketball team.

During his first season at the Eagles' golf helm in 2006-07, Janczak led a young Benedictine squad to a fifth place finish in the tough Northern Athletics Conference race. His inaugural season with the golf team also had then freshman player R.J. Schwalbach finish as an all-conference player and earn the NAC's "Rookie of the Year" award for the top freshman player.

In basketball, Janczak has more than 15 years of experience on the bench as either a head coach or assistant coach at the college level, and has already helped the Eagles to three winning seasons and an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in basketball. He serves as one of the team’s two junior varsity basketball coaches in addition to other duties.

Janczak began his coaching career at North Central College. During his 12-year tenure at his alma mater, Janczak helped the Cardinals to four College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) basketball titles. A coach under Bob Bray (a 1979 graduate of then-Illinois Benedictine College), Janczak was responsible for a variety of duties during his tenure at North Central, including scouting, film breakdown and recruiting.

A 1984 graduate of North Central, Janczak also served as the head men’s basketball coach at fellow Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference (NIIC) school Dominican University for two years (2000-02). He is a financial analyst and resides in Naperville, Ill., with wife Kerry and their children– Tyler, Kyle and Jamie.
