Jon Wolcott

Jon Wolcott is in his 18th year heading up the Benedictine University track and field programs. Wolcott is also the head coach for the Eagles’ men’s and women’s cross country teams.

In 2006, Wolcott led Benedictine University’s efforts as the host of the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

Wolcott’s student-athletes have had a great deal of success both in the classroom and on the courses of competition, as established by his numerous all-conference finishers, five track and field All-Americans, multitude of school records and his many academic all-conference teams and individuals.

Wolcott accumulated more than two decades of coaching experience at the prep level in Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas prior to arriving at Benedictine. A mentor in basketball, cross country and track & field, he produced more than 75 prep all-conference, all-state and All-America performers before moving to collegiate athletics.

A native of Berrien Springs, Mich., Wolcott lettered in basketball, cross country, golf and track & field while attending Kalamazoo College, from where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1960. He and his wife of 40 years, Judith, reside in Naperville, Ill. They enjoy the company of their family, which include four sons and two grandchildren.

   
 

Molly Remley
Assistant Coach

Molly Remley (formerly Morrison) is the newest addition to the Benedictine University cross country and track and field coaching staff. She joined the Eagles’ team in 2005.

Remley earned collegiate letters in both cross country and track & field while leading both teams as captain throughout her remarkable career. She earned citations as an CoSIDA Academic All-American in both cross country and track and field, was a three-time All-American in cross country and track and field, while earning seven conference championship titles during her time as a Cardinal. She set school marks in the 3000, 5000 and 10,000 meter events, as well as the distance medley relay.

Remley, originally from Metamora, Ill., earned her bachelor’s degree from North Central in 2004. She and her husband Andy reside in Oswego.

   
 

Mandy Semenik
Assistant Coach

Mandy Semenik, a former standout student-athlete for Benedictine University, was named as an assistant coach for the Eagles' track and field program in 2007. Semenik is also the head coach for women's tennis at Benedictine.

Semenik spent two seasons as a graduate assistant with Benedictine's track and field and cross country programs and has also been an instructor in Benedictine's highly-successful "Learn to Swim" program. She worked as a tennis instructor for Aurora Country Club, Lockport Township Park District and the Lockport Township High School's tennis camp.

Semenik was a rare four-sport athlete, participating in tennis, track and field, cross country and swimming during her intercollegiate athletics career at Benedictine. She lettered three seasons in tennis, earning all-conference accolades as a freshman and the Eagles' "Most Valuable Player" award as a senior, playing both No. 1 singles and doubles.

In track and field, as well as in cross country, Semenik was a four-year letter winner. She still holds school records in the 200 meter intermediate hurdles, pentathlon and heptathlon, and is the former record-holder in the javelin. She was twice the team MVP for track, as well as the cross country team's "Rookie of the Year" and three-time "Most Improved" award winner.

Semenik was named the Benedictine University female "Athlete of the Year" as a senior, after also spending one season with the Eagles' swimming team. Semenik was recognized for her classroom success, twice earning recognition on the NIIC's All-Academic Teams (grade point average) and on the league's All-Scholastic squad (which considers athletics, academics and community/classroom involvement).

Semenik earned her Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Benedictine. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree work in biology - graduating cum laude - at Benedictine, as well.

Concurrent with her employment at Benedictine, Semenik is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. At TriCity Family Services (in Geneva) with the Caregiver Connections program, Semenik is an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, providing consultations for childcare providers in DuPage and Kane counties. At Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (in Villa Park and Downers Grove), Semenik is a professional counselor providing individual, couple, family and group counseling to children, adolescents and adults.

   
 

Talia Williams
Assistant Coach

Williams joined the Benedictine staff as the sprints coach in 2008. As a member of the women's track and field team at Division III powerhouse University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, from 2002-2006, the former sprinting specialist brings both on-track and coaching experience to the Eagles.

The Viroqua, Wisconsin native became an assistant coach for the UWL Eagles during her final year of school. Her successful running career at UW-La Crosse was filled with athletic accomplishments. She helped the team to seven conference championship titles - four indoor and three outdoor -and garnered all-conference honors in 2004-06. Williams earned All-America accolades her senior season after her 400m relay team placed fifth in the nation.

Williams served as a team captain for UWL, as well. Her work ethic carried over to the classroom where she was also named to the Dean's List numerous times.

After completing her bachelor's degree in physical education at UW-La Crosse in 2006, Williams began her teaching career with the Indian Prairie School District 204 as an Adapted Physical Education Specialist, where she is presently employed.

Williams resides in Lisle, Illinois.
