rserge@ben.edu

Robyn Serge was named as Benedictine University’s head coach for women’s soccer in 2006. Serge came to the Eagles’ program after two years as the head coach at Rockford (Ill.) College.

Serge brings to the Eagles’ program a commitment to developing the student-athletes, both on the field and in the classroom. She has a demonstrated ability to recruit talented numbers, which is key factor for the success of any program. Her familiarity with the Northern Athletics Conference – as well as regional – teams is also a great advantage.

Prior to joining the Rockford College staff, Serge was the head women’s soccer coach at Beloit (Wis.) College in 2002 and 2003. She was a graduate assistant women’s soccer coach at Rockford for three years (1999-2001). Serge played semi-professional soccer for the United Systems Independent Women’s Soccer League (USIWSL). In 2005, Serge received her national diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Serge earned both her bachelor of science degree in biology and physical science (1998) and master of arts degree in teaching (2002) from Rockford College.
Serge played women’s soccer four years (1994, 1996-98) for Rockford. She was an All-Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference (NIIC) player all four seasons and was the team’s “Most Valuable Player” all four seasons. She was the team captain her senior campaign.

Eron Bozec
Assistant Coach

Eron Bozec came to the Benedictine staff in 2006, joining former college teammate Robyn Serge’s staff. Bozec
currently plays club soccer in the Western Women’s Suburban Soccer League.

Bozec was an All-Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference soccer player as a junior and senior and was named the program’s “Outstanding First-Year Player” in 1995. She was also involved with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Bozec earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Rockford College in 1998 and her master’s degree in
occupational therapy from Midwestern University in 2001. She also attended nearby Willowbrook High School.

Sara Butterworth
Assistant Coach

Sara Butterworth joined the Eagles’ staff in 2007, bringing impressive credentials with her.

Butterworth played soccer for four seasons at the University of Tampa. She earned her team’s “Freshman of the Year” award. As a senior, she was the captain of UT’s team which qualified for the NCAA Division I championship tournament. Additionally, she played soccer in Medellin, Colombia in the summer of 2007.

Butterworth earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology/ sociology from the University of Tampa in 2004. She was awarded a scholarship to study abroad, as well as UT’s Presidential Academic Scholarship.

She is a resident of Crete, Ill., and was born in Crown Point, Indiana. She played both soccer and softball at Andrean (Ind.) High School.

Marco Parducci
Assistant Coach (goalkeepers)

Marco Parducci became a member of the Benedictine staff in 2007, specializing in coaching the Eagles’ goalkeepers. Parducci is no stranger to the campus, having earned his masters degree in counseling psychology here in 1990 (when the school was known as Illinois Benedictine College).

Parducci earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from nearby Lewis University in 1986. He enjoyed a four-year soccer career for the Flyers, where he was the team’s “MVP” and All-Great Lakes Valley Conference as a senior.

Parducci currently teaches psychology at Glenbard East High School and has been the assistant girl’s coach for 13 seasons (coaching current Benedictine players Lauren Omsberg and Melissa Swanson). He also has been a goalkeeper coach for the Illinois Youth Soccer Association Olympic Developement Program for 10 years.

A resident of Bloomindale, Ill., Parducci is married (Cindy) and has three children (Alicia, Moria and Marco Giulio). He attended Addison Trail High School during his prep days.
