Benedictine University Police Department
Police Training

Just as all Illinois Police Officers, Benedictine University Police Officers have completed the 440 hour police academy certification course mandated by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. This covers Illinois Criminal law, Illinois Vehicle Code, Firearms Training, Use of Force, Subject Control Tactics, Cultural Diversity, Crime Scene Processing, and many other topics that are necessary to fulfill the ability to "Serve and Protect".
Benedictine University Police are currently members of the police training agency known as NEMRT. (North East Multi-Regional Training Unit) This agency provides on-going training and certification through the state of Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
