Close reading of selected works of Latin American literature including poetry, the novel, drama, and the short story. Students will be exposed to the lives of the authors and their times, as well as the critical role of literature in Latin American social and political development. Emphasis on enabling students to develop skills in written and oral narration and description, and reading proficiency. Fall, odd years. IAI H3 916.
