Regular
students are required to complete twelve credit hours of Basic Skills, or to demonstrate
proficiency in the skill areas. Basic skills requirements are:
- Argumentative
Writing: RHET S101 (3 credits)
- Research Writing: RHET S102
(3 credits)
Proficiency: by examination, or by passing HNRS 190
and HNRS 191 (Scholars only) - Basic Speech Communication:
RHET S110 (3 credits)
Proficiency: by examination, or by passing
HNRS 191 (Scholars only) - Quantitative Skills: MATH S105, S108,
or S110 (3 credits)
Proficiency: by earning CLEP credit in College
Algebra; by placement above MATH S105, S108, or S110 on the Math Placement Test;
by passing MATH 111, 115, 170, or any 200- or 300-level math course.
