Beginning in 2002, the Common Core sequence consists of:

  • HUMN 101, First Year Seminar
  • 2 of the 3 existing courses:
    (HUMN 220, HUMN 230, HUMN 240)


  • HUMN 250
  • Transfer students with twenty or more credit hours accepted by Benedictine University are exempt from the First Year Seminar and one of the three Cultural Heritage Classes.  Degree Completion Students (those with seventy-five or more transfer credit hours) are exempt from the First Year Seminar and two of the three Cultural Heritage classes.  Information on transfer eligibility is available from Wendy Finch, Co-ordinator of Transfer Evaluation and Articulation, in the Academic Resource Center (630 829-6309).
