Graduates from Class of 2012 Donate $4,200 and Counting

Throughout the winter and spring, five members from the Benedictine University Class of 2012 met with Annual Fund department staff to plan and implement their class's giving campaign.  May graduates, Eric Taylor, Alana Smith, Nicolas McCord and Daniel Zust were joined by December '12 grad candidate, Brittany Wolski to form this committee.  Each of the committee members were very active on campus and therefore, fully aware of how donor generosity positively impacts students.  Knowing that their donation would be their legacy gift as they graduated, the committee decided to raise funds to support the new welcome center that was built around the Neff farmhouse.  Since the plans for the Neff Welcome Center included an Alumni Plaza, it seemed fitting that one of the first bricks laid in the plaza would bear the name of the Benedictine University Class of 2012, in honor of the University's 125th anniversary.

The committee's initial fundraising goal was to exceed $3,000 but naturally, they aspired to reach a higher amount.  As of May, the 2012 Class Gift to the University stood at $4,200 which was the amount on the check presented to Dr. Carroll at Commencement.  However, the Class of 2012 is not finished yet!  With the help of her fellow December graduates, Brittany Wolski means to have the donations from the class be no less than $5,000.  In reaching that goal, she hopes to challenge the Class of 2013 and future graduating classes to meet or exceed the $5,000 amount.

Please consider helping Brittany and other December 2012 graduates to raise the final $800 needed for the $5,000 Class of 2012 goal.  There is still time to donate and join the classmates, families and friends who have supported the campaign so far.  Any amount of additional support for the class legacy gift is truly appreciated.
