COD/BenU 3+1 Program

Students are the lifeblood of any university. Through the collaborative efforts of our various offices, we help students make informed choices about continuing their education. We provide a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the best of the Benedictine values of hospitality and a concern for the development of each individual.
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Management program curriculum is designed to enable graduates to effectively function in increasingly complex business environments. The program focuses on skill development in the areas of management and leadership, group behavior, accounting and economics, marketing and project management. The program challenges students to develop knowledge, skills and personal values through a well-planned, sequenced curriculum. Program instructors provide extensive real-world knowledge creating the context for a meaningful educational experience and focus on providing theory coupled with practical applications that students can use immediately. Instructional methods include lectures, seminars, workshop activities, simulations and business case studies. 

Benedictine University and the College of DuPage have formed an innovative partnership designed to provide a seamless transfer experience for College of DuPage students completing an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Accounting, Management or Marketing. In this program, students complete specific courses that count toward completion of an A.A.S. degree at the College of DuPage and a Benedictine University bachelor’s degree. After completing approximately three years of specified coursework, students transition into Benedictine’s Bachelor of Arts in Management major courses. Refer to the Academic Plan Brochure below for specific course lists and graduation requirements. Due to the specialized and prescribed nature of this program, it is highly recommended that students refer to this document and work with an Academic Advisor to ensure proper course selection.

Admission Requirements

Benedictine University admits qualified adult students who demonstrate the potential to maintain satisfactory academic standing. Specific admissions conditions are:

  • Completion of the A.A.S. degree from COD in Accounting, Management or Marketing.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • A minimum age of 21 years

To be considered for admission, the application file must be complete (including official transcripts from COD and any other colleges or universities attended). It is highly recommended that all documents be submitted to Benedictine University prior to the last semester of completing the required degree.
