Students are the lifeblood of any university. Through the collaborative efforts of our various offices, we help students make informed choices about continuing their education. We provide a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the best of the Benedictine values of hospitality and a concern for the development of each individual.
Any student (permanent resident, green card holder, US citizen, or student seeking or currently on a visa) with overseas or foreign credit, will need to have these credits evaluated. Benedictine University requires students to have these credits evaluated by Education Credential Evaluators (ECE). ECE is a not-for-profit organization that will evaluate transcripts, mark sheets, and other academic documents, to determine a Grade Point Average (GPA), as well as the US equivalent of credit hours and the degree earned in the home country, if applicable. The ECE evaluation will assist the office of admissions in determining if the degree the student holds in their home country fulfills the requirement for the program to which they are applying. Official evaluations must be submitted to Benedictine University's office of Admissions. In order for an evaluation to be considered official, it must be in the original sealed envelope from ECE. Benedictine University recommends that students have one report mailed directly to Benedictine University from ECE, and at least one other report mailed to them.
Students seeking graduate/master's degree:
In order to apply to our graduate level programs, most students will need to have the US equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree. Students applying to these programs must complete a course-by-course evaluation.
