Students are the lifeblood of any university. Through the collaborative efforts of our various offices, we help students make informed choices about continuing their education. We provide a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the best of the Benedictine values of hospitality and a concern for the development of each individual.
You may submit an application via fax, mail or online.
What if I am not from the United States?
If you are not a U.S. citizen, green card, or permanent resident card holder, we would like you to speak with the International Admissions Counselor at (630) 829-6304. Any student who has taken classes overseas will need their transcripts translated by the Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), an accredited foreign educational credentials evaluating not-for-profit. ECE can be reached at www.ece.org and forms are available in the Enrollment Center. Chinese and Vietnamese students should visit the Asia Institute website for further information: www.ben.edu credentials evaluating company. ECE can be reached at www.ece.org and forms are available in the Enrollment Center. For specific evaluation report please contact the Enrollment Center.
What if I have already taken a graduate entrance exam years ago?
Benedictine will accept test scores up to five years old.
Do I really need to submit all of my official transcripts?
Yes, Benedictine needs official, sealed transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended so we can evaluate your entire academic history. This is a University policy. Each transcript is considered a piece of your academic record. Remember an official transcript bears the institution's seal and is sent directly from one institution to another.

What is the role of the Enrollment Center?
The Enrollment Center is here to serve students who are in the admissions process. We can answer questions about the Benedictine community, format offerings, program options, program requirements, start dates, application questions, updates on the status of your file, housing and financing options. We will also put you in touch with key departmental contacts who will provide you with answers to your specific questions about the program and provide you with advising and registration throughout the length of your graduate program.
When can I start taking classes?
Students can begin taking classes at any of the quarter/semester start dates. For specifics on the program you are requesting, please see the academic calendar.
Are there any support services available to graduate students?
Yes, students can utilize any of the many services available in the Student Success Center located in the Krasa Student Center. Some students may also be interested in the resources provided by Career Development, such as a full career library of resources, numerous handouts for creating cover letters and resumes, information on job search Internet sites, interviewing strategies and job fair information.
What if I want to enroll in two programs?
Students must apply to both programs and admission for each program will be determined separately. Students may choose from a variety of dual degrees.
How long will it take me to earn my degree?
The length of the program depends on the number of courses and credits you take in each term and the type of program you select. Each program has its own graduation requirements.
What should I do if I want to switch programs after I am enrolled?
Students who wish to switch from one graduate program to another will need to submit a new application and new letters of recommendation. Other documents/requirements may be necessary depending on the program into which you wish to change. Students should notify Enrollment Services of their change in program.
Does my application packet need to be complete before submitting?
No. However we highly recommend that the application be the first document submitted. Any document that is received prior to the application will be housed in a master file in our Processing Center for one full year before being purged. The application is the document that triggers the application process and provides the information our staff needs to track all of your documents and keep you updated on the status of your application.
How much is the application fee?
Our application fee is $40. However, we waive the fee if a student visits campus before they apply.
