to the March edition of the Corporate Foundation and Government
Grants newsletter! The overall goal of this publication
is to provide basic information to the Benedictine community
about the grant process, services of the Grants office
and various grant opportunities available.

News from the
Grants Office
-- The University received an award from the
Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation for Future Leaders scholarships.
-- The U.S. Department of State has again selected Benedictine
University to be one of the sites for its Middle East Partnership
Initiative. Eighteen students from the Middle East and North
Africa will come to campus in summer 2008 for this program.
-- The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has made an award that will
allow the University to hold an Appreciative Inquiry Summit.
-- The Jurica Nature Museum was one of 851 institutions chosen
by the Institute of Museum and Library Services to receive
the IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf.
-- Benedictine University has been invited by the Small Business
Administration to apply for a congressional appropriation
to maintain and expand the First Responders Program.
