Academic English Program (Credit-Bearing College Level Courses)

The Academic English Program was developed specially for preparation for academic discourse. Each class will develop language skills and strategies necessary to surmount challenges in university courses. The classes are delivered to meet the needs of students that require extra preparation before beginning full-time university studies. The classes are taught by full-time faculty in the Language and Literature Department using content-rich curriculum in collaboration with each student's major to help individuals become successful communicators in speech and writing. The classes are teacher- and learner-centered and promote language acquisition and cultural understanding. Students can take other non ELP courses required for their specific disciplines.
