Help Desk Process Improvement Initiative
Starting June 1, 2009, the IT department will begin a series of steps
aimed at improving our responsiveness and communications regarding service
requests. We ask that you continue to direct your IT service requests via
email to helpdesk@ben.edu. Our new Service Desk software will monitor this
email inbox and automatically create your service request. Or, you may call
the Help Desk at 630-829-6684 and the person answering the phone will take
the information necessary to help resolve your request. Please continue to
direct your Audio/Visual requests to
avrequests@ben.edu.
Once an IT staff member begins work on your request, he or she will use the
Service Desk software to maintain a record of all contact with you. We will
also use it to generate email messages to you. The emails will come from
Benedictine University Help Desk [helpdesk@ben.edu]. Should these messages
ask for additional information from you, please reply to the email with the
requested information or any comments that you have. Your response will be
automatically entered into the appropriate service request and the assigned
staff members will be notified that you have responded.

Information Technology is pleased to announce that as a part of its
ongoing efforts to provide cost effective solutions for students and staff
we have secured agreements with certain wireless service and computer equipment providers
to provide discounts to our students and staff.
