Blackboard (WebCT) Information
from the Office of Information Technology
|

Blackboard (previously called WebCT) is the course management system (CMS) used at Benedictine University to provide online
enhancements to traditional lecture/discussion classes and to support totally online courses. Faculty may use
Blackboard to deliver course materials, conduct threaded discussions, present and grade online quizzes, distribute
and collect homework assignments and direct students to course related web sites. (FlexMBA courses use the
Angel CMS rather than Blackboard.)
Anyone, faculty or student, participating in any Blackboard course(s) is issued a Blackboard ID and Password.
Logging in to Blackboard loads the participant’s personal Blackboard Home Page (called the myBlackboard page). Links
to all the participant’s Blackboard courses appear on the myBlackboard page.
Blackboard (WebCT) is accessed using a full-featured web browser either directly at
http://www.ben.edu/blackboard or by following
the Blackboard (WebCT) link provided on several University website pages.
Blackboard handouts are available at http://www.ben.edu/programs/TLC/WebCT.asp.
