Richard C. Becker was born March 1, 1931 in Cicero, Ill., and attended grade school at Our Lady of the Mount where he received instruction by Benedictine monks and sisters from Lisle, Ill. He assumed the office of president at Illinois Benedictine College in 1976, at the age of 45. Becker was the college's first lay-president, succeeding eight previous Benedictine monks who had served as rectors or presidents of the institution.
Collection includes minutes, notes, subject files, memorandums, and correspondence.
