The largest component of Archives & Special Collections, the Benedictine University Archives, seeks to document and preserve the history of Benedictine University and its predecessors, St. Procopius College and Illinois Benedictine College. The collection consists of:

  • publications of the college including yearbooks, course catalogs, student newspapers and press releases;
  • selected records of college presidents and provosts;
  • selected records of administrative departments;
  • subject files of places, events, and individuals;
  • artifacts representing the history of the University

The collection also includes books, photographs, and audio-visual materials. Books at this location can be searched in the library's online catalog, but may only be viewed in the Archives & Special Collections reading room.
