102 Social Science: Library Instruction Sessions
In
each of our library instruction sessions, our goal is to help you to develop your
research skills so that you will be able to find, evaluate and use information
effectively, efficiently and ethically. One
way to develop these skills is to ask yourself these questions each time you begin
the research process:
| | 1)
What information am I looking for? 2)
Where will I find the information? 3)
How good is the information? 4)
How will I ethically use the information?
Here is how we will address these
questions in each session:
Lesson
#1 Selecting
keywords and subject headings and locating background information on your topic
Lesson
#2 Locating
and evaluating information published in scholarly academic journals
| | | | Lesson
#3 Locating
information published in Social Science journals and annual reviews
| | Lesson
#4 Locating
government documents and information published by professional organizations
