Commercial document delivery services

What if I need materials the library doesn't have, and there isn't time to use interlibrary loan?

Commercial document delivery services can quickly provide copies of journal articles and other types of materials (usually within 24-48 hours) for a charge, usually applied to your credit card. Please note that charges usually range from $12 - $35 per article, possibly higher.

Before using a commercial service, we strongly recommend you check with library staff to make sure the materials you need are not available at Benedictine, or a nearby library with which Benedictine is affiliated, and from which you could obtain the materials at no cost. Interlibrary loan services are free to all Benedictine University students, faculty and staff. If you have questions about Interlibrary Loan services, please call (630) 829-6056 or send e-mail to libill@ben.edu during normal business hours. After normal business hours and on weekends, please contact the Reference Desk at (630) 829-6057 or e-mail libref@ben.edu.
