for a number of the databases to which Benedictine subscribes.
If you do not see a database listed, use the instructions
for "All databases
not explicitly listed above."
Many databases are now adding RefWorks-compatible features,
so if you do not see a database listed, it is possible RefWorks
capabilities may be coming soon. In the meantime, use the
instructions for "All
databases not explicitly listed above."

- Select citations to be exported by clicking the

- Click on "Download to Citation Manager."
- Choose whether to download citations only, or

- Click "Download chapter metadata."

- Log in to RefWorks BEFORE beginning your EBSCOhost
session.
- Select citations to be exported by clicking “Add
to Folder.”
- When finished selecting citations, the folder
icon at the top should now say "Folder has
items."
- Click on "Folder has items."
- Click “Save to Disk.”
- Click the “Bibliographic Manager” tab.
- Click "Direct Export to RefWorks."
- Un-check “Empty folder after
saving” (so you won’t lose everything if something
goes wrong with the export).
- Click “Save.”

NOTE: You must first create a user account on the
Emerald site to be able to export records into RefWorks.
Click "My Profile" in the left hand column
to log in to an existing My Profile account, or create
a new account.
- Log in to your "My Profile" account
within Emerald.
- Click "Marked List."
- If you have not created a Marked List before,
click on "Create new" to create a list.
Otherwise select a Marked List to use from those
displayed.
- Click "Search & browse" in the left
hand column and perform your search.
- From the display of records, click in the "Marked
List" checkbox next to each record to select
it to be added to your Marked List.
- Click "Add to My List" icon in the upper
right hand corner of the display. NOTE: if your
results span multiple pages, select and add all
items on the page to your Marked List before proceeding
to the next page.
- When finished selecting records, click "Marked
List" in the left hand column.
- In the checkboxes in the right hand column, select
the items from your Marked List that you wish to
export to RefWorks.
- Click "Download (ASCII)."
- On the Web page that displays, click “File” on
the browser menu. Choose “Save As” then enter a
name for the file and where to save it. Be sure
to change the file type to “.txt” before clicking
“Save.”

- Click “Export” button.
- Indicate which records to be exported, and select
"RefWorks." Click "Export."
- A new RefWorks window will open, confirming the
number of records that were imported.
If the above does not work, try:
- Select citations to be imported by clicking in
the checkbox next to each (on “List of Records”
page) or the “Mark” checkbox (on individual records).
- When finished selecting items, click “Marked
records.”
- Click “Detailed” to display records in Detailed
format.
- Click “File” on the browser menu. Choose “Save
As” then enter a name for the file and where to
save it. Be sure to change the file type to “.txt”
before clicking “Save.”

| Google Scholar |
You must set up this capability in Google Scholar
BEFORE starting your export to RefWorks. To do so:
- From the Google Scholar search page, click on
"Scholar Preferences."
- Scroll down to "Bibliography Manager."
- Select "Show Links to Import Citations into"
and select RefWorks from the dropdown menu.
- Click "Save Preferences."
To export to RefWorks:
- From your Google Scholar results, click on the
link beneath the desired reference labeled "Import
into RefWorks."
- The login screen for RefWorks will appear. Log
into your RefWorks account.
- Once you log in, the reference you selected will
be loaded into RefWorks in "Edit" view.
Edit the data as needed, then click "Save Reference."
- The reference will be saved to your "Last
Imported" folder.

I-SHARE

To import multiple citations:
- Select citations to be imported by placing a checkmark
in the box to the left of each title on the “Results”
page (if there is more than one page of results,
be sure to click the “Retain Selections” button
before moving to the next page).
- When finished, scroll to the bottom of the current
page to the "Print or Email" section.
- Under “Which records?” identify which records
to include ("All this page" or "Selected,
all pages").
- Under "Select format" select "EndNote
Citation" then click "Print/Save."
- On the page that displays, click “File” on the
browser menu. Choose “Save As” then enter a name
for the file and where to save it. Be sure to
change the file type to “.txt” before clicking
“Save.”
To export a single citation from the "Full
view" (single record) screen:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to “Print or
Email."
- Under "Select Download Format" choose
“EndNote citation,” then click "Print/Save."
- On the page that displays, click “File” on the
browser menu. Choose “Save As” then enter a name
for the file and where to save it. Be sure to
change the file type to “.txt” before clicking
“Save.”

- DO NOT log in to RefWorks before beginning your
JSTOR session. If you're already logged in to RefWorks,
log out.*
- Click “Save Citation” (either on individual records
or "Save Citations for Whole Page").
- Click “View Saved Citations.”
- Under Export Options choose "Directly Export
Citations into RefWorks."
- A new window will open to the RefWorks login window.
Log in to your RefWorks account.
- Once you log in, your citations will be imported.
* Note: once you have successfully exported at least
one reference to JSTOR, you can leave RefWorks open
in a second browser window to continue to export more
references. It's only during the first export where
you cannot already be logged in to RefWorks when exporting
from JSTOR. |

- It is not necessary to log in to RefWorks before beginning your
LexisNexis session.
- Click the “Export Bibliographic References” icon.
- A new window will open prompting which records you would like to save. Identify them appropriately and click "Export". Note: if pop-up blocker is turned on you may have to turn it off or accept pop-ups from the site temporarily.
- A new window will open to the RefWorks login window.
Log in to your RefWorks account.
- Once you log in, your citations will be imported.

- Select articles to be exported by clicking on

- In the PubMed search results screen, click the
dropdown box labeled "Display" at the
top of the screen and change the display format
to "MEDLINE."
- From the "Send to" dropdown box, select
"File," then click the "Save"
button to save the results to your PC. Be sure
to change the file type to “.txt” before clicking
"Save."

(found in the lower right hand corner).
- Scroll to top of page. Click "Download all

- Leave the "Direct Import" box CHECKED.
- Click "Download References."
- When prompted to save the file enter a name for
the file and where to save it. Do not change
