Where are the study
rooms? Who can use them?
Study rooms are located on the 3rd through 5th floors of
the library. There are eleven rooms total: 2 on the 3rd
floor, 5 on the 4th floor and 4 on the 5th floor. Study
rooms are intended for group rather than individual use.
If a group needs a room that an individual is occupying,
the individual may be asked to move to other study space
in the library.
Use of the library study rooms requires two Benedictine IDs.
Faculty and staff are prohibited
from using library study rooms for university meetings without
express permission from the library director.
How do I reserve
a study room?
Students working in groups may reserve study rooms a minimum
of three hours in advance by visiting or calling the Circulation
Desk at (630) 829-6050. Study rooms may be reserved for
four hours at a time. Study rooms may not be reserved for
individual use. Any room not claimed within 15 minutes of
the reservation or left unattended for more than fifteen
minutes will become available on a first-come, first-served
basis. Consecutive weekly reservations may be made four
weeks at a time.
How do I reserve a
study room with a computer or VHS player/TV in it?
Five study rooms in the library have special equipment.
Room 406 has a VCR/DVD/TV player, and the rooms on the 5th
floor are equipped with computers. These rooms may be reserved
in the same manner as regular study rooms.
