New Policies for Borrowing Books
December 13, 2011
Beginning January 2012, Benedictine Library will be implementing new interlibrary loan policies. These policies are part of the I-Share Fees and Fines Standardization initiative that has been implemented by our library consortium, CARLI. The new policies will automatically block all patron library accounts meeting certain fee or lost item limits on interlibrary loan materials. If a patron meets or exceeds any ONE of the following criteria, their library account will be blocked, and they will not be able to check out items until the fees are paid or the items are returned:
- 25 Overdue Interlibrary Loan items OR
- 3 Lost Interlibrary Loan items OR
- $200 in Interlibrary Loan fines
You can review your interlibrary loan record online by logging into your account. If you have never logged in before, simply chose “Create New Account” and follow the instructions. You can also contact the Benedictine University Library Circulation Desk for assistance at 630-829-6050.
