International Students & Scholars

Benedictine Hospitality provides immigration advising services for students, but can also provide students general assistance in navigating American higher education culture. International students have numerous reporting requirements, and we encourage you to navigate the information on the side for important forms and information. International Student Registration Deadlines

International students studying under an F or visa must be registered for each academic term. Some students have the misconception that International Student Services (ISS) must only register you in SEVIS when you arrive for your first term, but immigration regulations require that students are registered each term.

All international students are required to be registered within 30 days of the term start.

Students who are not registered will be in violation of their status.

                                                                                                                                                            

In order to be registered in SEVIS international students must:

  1. Submit a term check-in-form EACH TERM. This can be found HERE and this must be submitted by the Friday of the first week of classes.  Please don't forget to upload in a copy of your course schedule.   
  2. Students taking a vacation term can submit the same form completing the "Vacation Term Declaration" section. It is recommended you submit a copy of your transcripts so we can confirm you are eligible for a vacation term.
  3. If you are requesting ISS authorize a reduced course-load in SEVIS please submit THIS FORM in addition to the term check-in form.
  4. Attend New International Student Orientation to check-in and show immigration documents.

We look forward to hosting you during a visit at one of the upcoming S.O.A.R. Days. 

What is S.O.A.R.? An acronym for Student Orientation And Registration. This is BenU Mesa’s opportunity to help you manage the transition to becoming a student here before the semester begins. You will receive several pieces of information, as well as have an opportunity to meet Student Life Support Staff from across the BenU Mesa community during this visit.

What to expect:

  • Receive your class schedule and meet with an advisor to ask any questions about your academic program and learn about the advising process at BenU Mesa
  • Meet with Financial Aid and get assistance with any scholarship awards while meeting a financial aid representative. Ask any questions you may have about the financial aid process.
  • Gain access to the MyBenU web portal. This web account allows you to access your personal student portal and manage tuition, class schedule, library account, and so much more.
  • Driving a car to BenU Mesa and parking on campus? You will complete paperwork for parking.
  • SMILE! You will have your photo taken and walk away with your new Student ID card
  • Learn about important BenU Mesa resources and more…
