About the Department

The Career Services office primary function is to provide students and alumni with the tools to build a successful future that will assist them with their academic and career plans. In addition to assisting students and alumni in securing full time part-time and internship opportunities, we support students and alumni by facilitating: resume workshops, interviewing resources, on campus recruitment and career fairs.

About the Staff

Liz Corrigan is the Career Success Coordinator at Benedictine University at Mesa. Liz headshotMs. Corrigan who received her Master's Degree from Arizona State University in Higher and Post-Secondary education and graduated with her Bachelor Arts in Art History from the University of Cincinnati has over 20 years of experience in higher education administration in Student Affairs. She has organized and facilitated multiple events from teacher's workshops, career presentations, alumni events and college graduations. She works tirelessly with every student to get them placed in their chosen career field and makes sure that they are getting the most out of their degree.

Internship Opportunities

BenU at Mesa career services firmly believes that internships are the best way for students to get hands on experience in the career field of their choice during their time in college. Doing an internship during one's time at the University can open up doors to employment immediately after graduation and is a great networking opportunity to get one started down their career path. Outside Job Opportunities

Just as there are chances to apply for jobs within the University, there are plenty of job opportunities within Mesa and the surrounding East Valley of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. The career services department looks to place students in these positions just as they would in internships or jobs within BenU at Mesa. Benedictine Job Opportunities

BenU at Mesa offers federal works study and student employment to all of its students. Whether working as a tutor, taking phone calls at the front desk, working in the admissions department, running the BenU cafe or helping out in athletics, there are plenty chances for students to find employment at the University. Masters of Tomorrow Exhibition

Event Description:


  • To give young Arizona artists an opportunity to exhibit their artwork to the public.
  • To help make a college education affordable for young Arizona artists.

Why Apply?

  • Exhibit your artwork in a selective professionally juried show.
  • Win a scholarship to Benedictine University Mesa.
  • Gain prestige by having you work added to the permanent collection of a major university museum.

Three jurors will select a maximum of 100 works for the Masters of Tomorrow Exhibition at Benedictine University Mesa. From those 100 finalists, jurors will then select the prize winners.


All high school and community college students who currently reside in Arizona.


  • High School -- Fine Art & Graphic Design
  • Community College -- Fine Art & Graphic Design


Each student may submit up to three original works of art in any media. Specify art or design.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: Midnight, Feb. 3, 2018
  • Finalists Announced: Feb. 9, 2018
  • Deliver Artwork: Feb. 16-17, 2018
  • Opening Reception: 3-5pm, Feb. 24, 2018
  • Exhibition: Feb. 24 - March 9, 2018
  • Pick-Up Artwork: 8-5pm, March 9-10


Best Fine Art Work: 50% tuition scholarship to Benedictine University Mesa.

Best Graphic Design Work: 50% tuition scholarship to Benedictine University Mesa.

2nd Prize, High School: $500 cash prize, and artwork will be accepted into the permanent collection of the Benedictine University Art Museum.
