Benedictine Mesa Continues Partnership with TheDream.US

National Scholarship Application Open Now

For the second straight year, Benedictine University Mesa is partnering with TheDream.US to ensure continued access to higher education for Arizona DREAMers.

DREAMers, who are immigrant youth who came to this country at a very young age without documentation, had planned to attend Arizona-state universities and community colleges but were left without an affordable college option after the AZ Supreme Court’s ruling. TheDream.US is the nation’s largest college access and success program for DREAMers. They currently work to help 6,000 highly motivated DREAMers graduate from college with degrees.

Benedictine University Mesa, along with several other Arizona colleges and universities, provide funding to TheDream.US National Scholarship recipients so that the cost of tuition and fees are fully covered. The application period for TheDream.US National Scholarship opens on November 1, 2019 and closes on February 27, 2020.

Campus Dean, Paula Norby, EdD said, “Our partnership with TheDream.US enables us to further our mission by serving Arizona’s highly motivated immigrant students who are eager to gain an education and who will contribute to our vibrant campus community, and ultimately, our nation.”

According to Candy Marshall, President, TheDream.US, “We, alongside our Scholars, grieved the regrettable state Supreme Court ruling denying DREAMers in-state tuition. In-state tuition rates enabled TheDream.US to fund scholarships for more than 150 DREAMers attending our Partner Colleges in Arizona. Now, thanks to the commitment of Benedictine University Mesa and our other local Partner Colleges, we will again be able to help Arizona DREAMers achieve their higher education goals and contribute back to the state’s economic and social prosperity.”

Benedictine University Mesa, a private Catholic university located in downtown Mesa, will be offering a select few National Scholarship recipients the chance to live out their dream of attending college for no cost.
