The National Moser Center for Adult Learning prepares education professionals who are able to blend best practices with innovation, who can work through change and not around it, and who can identify and adapt to evolving learning environments.
Designed to respond to rising literacy expectations and a need for people to acquire powerful literacy abilities in order to fully participate in society, the Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Reading and Literacy reflects the International Reading Association standards for a Reading Specialist.
Licensed teachers who successfully complete the program - which leads to entitlement as a reading specialist - will be able to provide intensive instruction to struggling readers, deliver effective professional development for the teachers in their schools, and develop, lead and evaluate a school reading program from kindergarten through grade 12.
The 33 semester credit-hour program can be completed in 15 instructional months via a blended one-night-a-week format convenient for busy educators.

The English as a Second Language (ESL) and Bilingual Endorsement program offered by the National Moser Center for Adult Learning is designed to meet an urgent need for teachers who can address the cultural, linguistic and developmental needs of a diverse group of students.
Completion of this program enables certified teachers to obtain the additional state of Illinois approval needed to receive an ESL/Bilingual Endorsement and make qualified, compassionate and committed bilingual teachers available before the need becomes untenable.
The ESL/Billingual endorsement program can be completed in approximately nine instructional months via a blended one-night-a-week format convenient for busy educators.
