Benedictine University senior pitcher/firstbaseman Melissa Kennedy (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park H.S.) was named as the Northern Athletics Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 15. Kennedy led the Eagles to a 7-1 mark last week (6-0 in the NAC) and was 4-0 from the circle, herself. In 35 innings pitched, she had a 0.84 earned run average and registered 25 strikeouts. With the bat, Kennedy hit .542 with two homeruns, nine runs batted in and four runs scored. She was also errorless in 23 chances from the field.
