Sophomore tailback Ryan Schwartz (Clawson, Mich./Bishop Foley H.S.) was named as the Illini-Badger Football Conference (IBFC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week for games of September 8. In the Eagles (1-1) 14-0 win at North Park University, Schwartz carried the ball a workhorse-like 39 times for 204 total rushing yards. The total was the best single game effort of Schwartz's young college career. Schwartz also scored both of Benedictine's touchdowns in the game. His 16-yard run in the second quarter helped BU to the 7-0 halftime lead. A three-yard jaunt in the third period added some insurance for the Eagles.
