Girls in grades 1-8 who want to improve their volleyball skills while having fun should attend Benedictine University’s Spring Break Volleyball Camp on Monday, March 26 through Thursday, March 29 in the campus’ Dan and Ada Rice Center. The Spring Break Volleyball Camp is designed to introduce the sport of volleyball to new players in the elementary grades and enhance the skills of older players at the junior high level. Players will learn the correct technique in the basic skills of volleyball – passing, setting, hitting, serving and blocking – with an emphasis on fun. The clinics are conducted by Benedictine University volleyball coach Jennifer Wildes, who will be assisted by the Benedictine coaching staff and current and former players and coaches. Campers should wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes and bring a bottle of water. All items should be brought in a bag that is clearly marked with the child’s name. The camp is open to girls in grades 1-8. The camp for girls in Grades 1 through 5 is conducted from 9:00-10:45 a.m. and for girls in grades 6-8 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The cost is $55 per child. For more information, call (630) 829-6141.
