The 17th annual DuPage Inter-Faith Thanksgiving Service will be held at St. Procopius Abbey at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 19. St. Procopius Abbey is located at the corner of Maple Avenue and Yackley Boulevard in Lisle. Inter-faith services and interreligious dialogue seek to encourage members of different faiths to welcome the spirituality of others as a valid path to God, provide an opportunity to enrich understanding and appreciation of other methods of prayer and meditation, and strengthen the bonds between believers of different faiths in the quest for peace and protection of the environment. Following the Papal Assisi Model of praying in each other’s presence will be the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey, Buddhist monks, Hindu, Sikhs, Muslims, Jews, Zoroastrians, Theosophists, Bahai, Byzantine Catholics and Protestants. The Abbey monks will sing several pieces of Gregorian chant. The prayer service is expected to last approximately one-and-a-half hours. The public is welcome and admission is free. For more information, contact St. Procopius Abbey at (630) 969-6410.
