BU’s softball team went 5-5 on its spring trip to Orlando, Fla. With a roster dominated by freshmen and sophomores, head coach Kate Keller was satisfied by her team’s efforts. “We can’t judge everything with wins and losses right now,” said Keller. “I was pleasantly surprised. We scored nine runs in our very first at-bat in the tournament, so that got things off to a good start for the year. “In general, all of our girls played well. But our freshmen were the best surprise of all, considering it was their first collegiate competition. We were in all but one of the games we lost, too, so our record could easily have been even better. Now that we are home, we need to work on ‘finishing’ to move some of those close games to the win column in the future.”
