The Benedictine University women's basketball team raced out to a first half lead before having to come back and score a 77-72 win over Dominican University at the Rice Center. The victory improved BU's record to 9-12 overall and 7-8 in the Northern Athletics Conference. Senior center Tamika Curtis did what she does best by taking control of the game down the stretch. The BU All-American tallied 31 points - 21 in the second half - and snarred 10 rebounds. She also blocked five shots. Curtis hit 13 of-21 from the field after starting the game going just 4-for-7 shooting. Junior transfer Laketa Simpson came off the bench to tally 12 points. She also dished off five assists and had five boards. Senior guard Tiffany Hardy led either team with eight assists.
