Benedictine University senior guard Jared Bailey (Argo, Ill./Argo Community H.S.) has been named as the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) "Student-Athlete of the Week" in men's basketball for the period of January 19-25. It was Bailey's second weekly honor from the NAC, having also won the award on January 12. Bailey engineered the Eagles' upset road win over then NAC South leader Aurora University, scoring all 14 of his points in the second half. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists as the Eagles overcame a six-point halftime deficit. On the week, Bailey averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor. Bailey is within 18 points of reaching the coveted 1,000 career points plateau. Bailey - and the Eagles - will next be in action this Wednesday (Jan. 28/7:00 p.m.) at home versus current NAC South frontrunner, Milwaukee School of Engineering.
