Bachelor of Science in Nursing program celebrates first graduates from Springfield

The first group of students who enrolled in the Registered Nurse (R.N.) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) Completion Program at Benedictine University at Springfield successfully completed their graduation requirements and will be awarded their degrees at commencement ceremonies held in Springfield on May 22. The R.N.-to-B.S.N. program builds on previous knowledge and experience, enhances professional development, prepares students for a broader scope of practice and provides a better understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social issues that affect patients and influence care delivery. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The graduates (and honors designations) are: Betty Jane Ferrell (Pana), with honors; Shelly Marie Flagg (Springfield), with honors; Sherry Ann Frantz (Riverton), with honors; Joseph M. Geno, Jr. (Springfield), with honors; Sonja Kay Harvey (Springfield), with honors; Dawn James (Springfield), with honors; Christine Jarman (Hillsboro); and Heather Elizabeth Jugan (Springfield), with honors. Also, Laura Lee Lucas (Morrisonville), with honors; Jennifer Neff (Virden), with honors; Rhonda J. Oller (Harvel), with honors; Andrea Peters (Pleasant Plains); Taryn L. Plummer (Chatham), with honors; Lisa A. Powell (Divernon), with honors; Trená Williams (Springfield), with honors; and Debora Sue Zaffiri (Springfield).
