Higher productivity, faster growth, happier customers and greater efficiency are the result of achieving excellence throughout an entire organization. However, not many organizations are able to achieve excellence and even fewer people are able to help guide a business organization toward reaching that goal.

The Quality Performance Excellence certificate program at Benedictine University, offered through the Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior (M.S.M.O.B.) program in partnership with the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence, teaches students how to assist organizations on a continuous improvement journey leading to greater organizational performance. The 16-credit certificate program provides students with the tools to establish expertise in practical organizational performance excellence.

The Lincoln/Baldrige core values (visionary leadership, valuing employees and partners, etc.) are explored and imparted to students to enable them to recognize organizations that have achieved excellence and compare them with other organizations. Required courses examine such topics as: Managing Quality; Tools and Techniques for Quality Management; Advanced Methods of Organization Development; Advanced Topics in Organizational Development: Becoming a Champion of Excellence; and Independent Study: Successfully Implementing Excellence. The certificate programs at Benedictine University are an excellent way to get started on a degree or gain that extra edge in a profession.

Designed to meet the growing need for effective, cutting-edge management skills, Benedictine’s programs are always being updated to reflect current job market needs. Some students choose the certificate programs as a shorter, more focused alternative to a graduate degree program. Some students plan to apply the certificate credits to a degree program at a later date. Those who may already have an advanced degree enter the program to update their skills or embark on a new area of specialization. The Quality Performance Excellence certificate program at Benedictine University is offered in conjunction with the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence, a nonprofit organization that assists Illinois organizations to strive for performance excellence by planning and implementing sound management processes.
