Interested job seekers will have the opportunity to network with potential employers on the Benedictine University campus on the second floor of the Krasa Student Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27. The event is free and open to the public.

Local employers representing career fields ranging from health care, human resources and education to insurance, information technology and communications will be on hand to discuss potential openings and answer questions.

Among the employers expected to be in attendance are: Robert Half Technology; Awakened Alternatives, Inc.; Ray Graham for People with Disabilities; Scranton Gillette Communications; DuPage County Human Resources; VNA Health Care; Prudential Financial; U.S. Army, Navy Recruiting District; Radio Disney AM 1300; The Children’s Academy; Aerotek; Premier Tourism Marketing; PSI Resources, Inc.; Kids First Sport Safety; The Creative Group; and others.

Job seekers who attend the event can expect to gain insight into the hiring process of an organization of interest, learn about available positions and possibly land job interviews.

The event is sponsored by Benedictine’s Offices of Career Development and Alumni Relations and the Lisle Chamber of Commerce and is part of the University’s “Developing Your Employment Toolbox” series.

The Spring Career Fair is a rare opportunity for area job seekers to expand their network and meet with potential employers face-to-face in a highly competitive job market, said Julie Cosimo, director of the Office of Career Development at Benedictine.

“It’s a great opportunity to get face time with employers who are seeking to hire good candidates,” Cosimo said. “With the market being competitive and recruiters receiving hundreds of resumes for each position, they need to get out and do more networking.”

Job seekers should be prepared to bring about 20 copies of their resumes, be professionally dressed and research the companies in attendance ahead of time, Cosimo added.

The Office of Career Development offers comprehensive services to assist students and alumni in developing, implementing and evaluating career and life plans. The office has also made available numerous handouts and other resources for the general public to access on resume writing and navigating a career fair. To access these resources, visit
