Benedictine freshmen and sophomores can now earn an award that will pay for the second semester of their senior year
Mesa, Arizona ~ Benedictine University at Mesa believes that while it is important to attend college, it is imperative students continue their studies and earn degrees that prepare them for success in the workplace and in life.
In keeping with its promise to provide students an affordable and attainable values-based education, the University has established the Benedictine Promise Award. The $10,000 award will allow students who meet eligibility requirements to earn a tuition award applied during the second semester of their senior year.
All freshmen and sophomore students who enroll for the fall 2014 semester will automatically participate in the award program.
“Our students are relying on us to nurture and guide them to the next step in their lives and we take this commitment seriously,” said Charlie Gregory, Benedictine’s executive vice president. “This new award is a part of The Benedictine Promise. We want our students to succeed, earn their degrees and move on to personal and career success. We want them to know we support them from day one through graduation – and beyond. We believe that Benedictine’s success is measured by the kind of people our graduates become, so we take an active role in giving them every possible opportunity to succeed in life.”
One of the many opportunities includes providing as much financial assistance as possible to those in need, making a private, Catholic education a reality for them.
In order to qualify for the Benedictine Promise Award, BenU at Mesa students must maintain continuous full-time enrollment, satisfactory academic progress and a cumulative 2.0 GPA.
The award is limited to tuition only and cannot be applied to other fees, books and housing costs or combined with other institutional aid within the semester the award is applied. However, students may decline the award if their institutional aid exceeds the amount of the award.
