Mesa, Ariz. The Student Senate at Benedictine University at Mesa has gotten off to a great start in the 2015 Fall Semester. Student Senate President, Monica Soliz said “the Student Senate will be planning a multitude of events in hopes of growing our one-of-a- kind community.”
The senate organized a pep rally on October 22 as part of the Mesa campus’s “Spirit Week. ”
The week as scheduled was: Marvel Monday or Superhero Day, Tacky Wacky Tuesday/ Crazy Hair Day, Wednesday was a Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness, Thursday was a Spirit Day for the Pep Rally, and Freaky Friday - Halloween Costume Day.
The Student Senate has begun fundraising to purchase a Redhawks mascot suit for the athletic department.
“This is something that I, as well as the rest of senate, have noticed would be an excellent addition here on our Mesa campus,” Soliz said.
This is an idea that is widely popular among both members of the Student Senate and the student body. In order to get the ball rolling with the fundraising, the Student Senate will be selling $10 T-shirts with the words “Rowdy Redhawks” and the Redhawks logo on the front.
