Country music stars ready to rock the Rice Center at Benedictine

September 23, 2015

Lisle, Illinois ~ Country music fans have an opportunity this fall to see two acclaimed country music stars – Easton Corbin and Jerrod Niemann – perform on one night at Benedictine University’s Rice Center at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 17.

Benedictine’s aptly named “BenBash” returns with two of the most respected up-and-coming performers on the country music circuit today.

Corbin, a Florida native, became the first country male performer since Dierks Bentley to have his first hit single, “A Little More Country Than That,” to reach No. 1 in 2009. He released his second No. 1 hit with “Roll With It” that same year, becoming the first country male artist in 17 years to have his first two consecutive singles reach No. 1. In 2010, he was ranked No. 9 on Billboard’s list of “Top Country Artists-Male” between Blake Shelton and Tim McGraw.

He won a pair of Top 10 singles in “Loving You is Fun” and “All Over the Road” in 2012 and just this year released the album “About to Get Real” featuring singles “Clockwork” and “Baby Be My Love Song.”

Kansas-born Niemann has written songs for and with such artists as Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton and Lee Brice, and has developed a strong fan base as a solid performer of his own.

He launched onto the scene in 2010 with the chart-topping debut, “Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury.” The album included “Lover, Lover,” a No. 1 RIAA-certified Platinum digital single, and the Top 5 single, “What Do You Want.” He returned with the acclaimed release, “Free the Music” in 2012 and “High Noon,” which represents a blend of country, pop and rock with splashes of electronic, forward-looking beats, in 2014.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for reserved tier-one seats are $50; reserved tier-two seats and general admission/standing-room only seats on the arena floor are $40. Tickets can be purchased at
